I would 100% recommend Tyler Pappas and team over at Tyspeed in New Jersey to anyone looking for high quality work on their BMW.Tyler is genuine, knowledgeable, and stands behind all of his work. I just crossed over the 25k mile mark on my N55 engine that was reassembled & reinstalled by him (close decking/boring done by CSS and head work/refresh done by Headgames Motorworks) and it’s been absolutely flawless paired with a Speedtech turbo kit. For a car with this many aftermarket parts, getting them to all work and play nice together seamlessly is a testament to Tyler’s skill and familiarity with BMWs, ranging from OEM to full blown race cars.My car and engine came to him basically piecemeal (due to my inexperience and poor handling by another shop) and he buttoned everything back up perfectly on top of the additional bolt ons and suspension parts I shipped over to him and wanted. Tyler and his team were communicative, transparent, and consultative through every step of the process.Since getting the car back from him, the car has been through its engine break-in procedure, street tuning, and even a roadtrip from NYC to Tail of the Dragon. It was thrashed along the way, there, and back, and the only thing it needed was new set of tires. The car continues to perform beautifully whenever an empty stretch of road allows for it and being able to beat on a car that you can rely on because Tyler built it = priceless.There are very few reputable engine builders in the BMW community, fewer that can operate as a one stop shop, and even a select fewer that can bring the same level of enthusiasm, knowledge, and real world racing experience that Tyler brings to his work.

I got referred to TySpeed by another professional, whose work I deemed to be impeccable. I was told that when it came to the BMW platform, there was no other place that had the level of expertise. I am so glad I got referred to them - the level of communication, planning, workmanship, and RESULT were truly second to none.I had my M2 set for a more focused track direction, yet still keeping it easily street-able. I planned with Tyler and his team what this would look like, and they hit the nail on the head. My car is a brand new car, I can’t begin to describe how much more I love it. Had rod bearing service done on my 2009 M6 manual at 61k miles. Tom and Matt at Tyspeed delivered exceptional customer service taking care of any questions I had and finishing the job on a timely manner. I've been taking my E46 M3 to Tyspeed since I got the car. The car basically transformed from a very good street car to now a track car and soon a racecar. Tyler and his team took it every step of the way. Tyler is a trusted resource for all things automotive. My 2006 BMW M3 is driving like a DREAM after taking it to Typseed! I can't thank Tyler, Tom, and anyone else who worked on my car for bringing back the love I once had for this car.I first reached out to inquire about doing an SMG to manual conversion and also repairing various other issues, preventing my car from running. I was super pumped when Tyler said something to the effect of him taking great satisfaction in making the M3 experience the way it should be (in doing the smg to manual conversion).For anyone dealing with the notorious SMG M3 issues, save yourself the anguish, and do the conversion with the pros at Tyspeed.These guys really delivered. They did the conversion, and diagnosed and addressed all my other issues. Also, these guys are very professional. They communicate clearly and transparently (by phone, text, and email) and have everything documented in their customer management system.Highly recommend!

Tyler , Tom and their team are highly dedicated to make sure you have an enjoyable and stress free experience. I have now been here TwiceFirst-I got my M6 rod bearings done @70k.Tom is the service manager and a knowledgeable BMW owner.The quote was reasonable, best priced from the ones I received.Ty performed the service (I think) picked the car back up in 4 days.They offer a dealership style diagnostics report with images and details that makes the user experience much much better than any other independent BMW workshop.Second-Took my 2006 4.8is E53 for a vibration diagnostics.... I have taken this vehicle to over 3 different shops for to diagnose this issue including VAC Motorsports (Who did a poor diagnostics).Matt and Ty were able to diagnose this issue, it was the differential. Swapped the diff and installed a rebuilt drive shaft, the vibration is now gone!Throughout this process, Tom the service manager was very proactive with getting the right parts ordered on time.I highly recommend TySpeed for your hearted BMW.

I finally bought my childhood car first time owning a bmw. Found tyspeed on a m3 forum online and was pretty close considering I live in Toms River brought the car in for a full vehicle inspection and some vanos work. These guys are so knowledgeable about bmws especially the e46 m3. Tyler went over everything on the car and gave me pages and list of things that should be taken care of as well as things to look for I’m happy I found this shop Tom was also great I had questions and he answered every single one of them. Only shop I trust to work on my car this is a 5 star professional business nothing less than that!

Tom runs a truly great BMW shop. I bought an unmodded 2017 M240i and was looking advice about adding a little power. Ended up with a Bootmod3 Stage 1 flash. The extra power and torque are just what the car needs for the street, while keeping its original smoothness and engine character. I could have been sold on a lot more, and will probably do more in the future. But for now the car is just right. Thanks to Tyspeed for their honest recommendations and excellent work. I'll be back for regular maintenance.

Have used this shop for second time and cannot be more than happy. And all i have is a good experience, Tyler and Tom great guys to work it. Explaining everything what going on whit your car. First time i used for Rod bearing job on my E46 M3. Now second time they fixed some leaks on my steering hoses, transmission and brand new bushings for my differential. Allways contact me about anything that I wanted or authorize to do. Honestly and a lot effort i see in this guys when working special in Bmw. I’m not going any where else. My car feels like new and running great whit more than 20yrs. Also this guy Tom that do the estimates and take care all paperwork, he can work whit u to drop the car or pick up. Very easy to work with on hard schedules. Definitely I’m going back and I recommend to anyone that drives a BMW.

I have a 2003 e46 M3 with 70K miles , the 4-6 cat went bad a few years ago but I never had it fixed since I drove under 5K miles in PA it doesn't need to pass emissions. I also needed a valve adjustment and wanted to do the VANOS as preventative maintenance. I never found a shop I was comfortable with to do the VANOS rebuild. I ran across Tyspeed doing an internet search and figured a shop like that is never close usually in CA. I emailed back and forth with Tom who is very knowledgeable and received a quote for the work, setup an appt. The work was done on time and the car hasn't performed this well in a while. I was particularly happy with the VANOs rebuild, all possible repairs and upgrades (Beisan parts) were used to make it bullet proof. The work was performed meticulously everything back in it's proper place, and some would consider me very particular. I'll be bringing it back to Tyspeed with no hesitation. Ty does top notch work and provided a thorough inspection.

This is an excellent service center/group of enthusiasts who take care of your car the way you'd take care of it. I took my 2005, 177k mile 330i to TySpeed for preventative maintenance and an o2 sensor code. They were thorough, helpful, detail-oriented, and they went above and beyond in a few areas which surprised me. Tom was communicative throughout the process, and you can tell the people at this shop are into the cars, the NJBMWCCA, and the culture, which is a big plus for me. I recommend this shop to anyone - new BMW or old - who just wants it done correctly without having to worry about shortcuts being taken or unnecessary work being quoted. I will certainly take my car back to TySpeed despite the distance and the fact that other shops near me are far more convenient.

Where do I begin I found this shop by pure luck my husband purchased me a 2006 bmw 3 series convertible that had a terrible oil leak and some other issues and when I tell you this place is awesome they did what needed to be done and made sure it was done right in a timely manner and most importantly honest and affordable!!! Since then they have done work on my husbands 5 series and mine will be coming in soon for service for my 4 series !! I’m so impressed in the knowledge that Ty and his employees have with BMW’S don’t go anywhere else but here you will not regret it! P.S. Great shop to work with. I had my M3 in for engine work, mainly attending to Rod Bearings, oil leaks, and other "while you're in there" work. I never used them before, and was naturally nervous with a new shop. No worries - throughout the process, both Tom and Tyler were patient, answered questions, and made me feel like I came to the right place. The car was done on time, and feels great. Right now I'm going though the break in, and so far so good. Great job!
